Illinois School Code 105 ILCS 5/27-9.1(c)(9) was amended June, 2006 and now mandates that the Abandoned Newborn Infant Protection Act be included in all school health education classes.  To help schools be in compliance with this new law, the Save Abandoned Babies Foundation has developed a Teacher's Kit. Available for download, the Teacher's Kit not only covers the basics of the law, but also provides suggested curriculum, offers interdisciplinary teaching extensions, wallet cards for students, and helpful resource listings. Included in the hard copy mailing done in early September 2006 to all Illinois Junior and High schools, the Kit also contains a Public Service Announcement DVD.  VHS format of the PSA is available in limited quantities.  Please email info@SaveAbandonedBabies.org for further information.
